I have such fond memories of growing up in Old Cartron and meeting Tommy almost daily on his bike delivering the post. He always had a smile and a kind word and even many years later, would still stop on the street for a chat.

We were saddened to learn of Tommy's death and we offer our deepest sympathy to Patricia and her sons on their great loss. Tommy was a man of many talents, a friendly postman, a musician, a wonderful photographer and an informed historian on the people and history of Sligo town. He was a regular contributor to the Sligo Historical Facebook page. He would have served as postman in all areas of our town and was respected by all the residents. Patricia and family, you will miss him greatly as he was such a great family man. May Tommy rest in peace.

I am very sorry to hear of Tommy's passing, our Postman when I worked in the Market Yard, a gentleman who always had time for a chat with me ever since. He will be missed and I extend my sympathy to Patricia and all his family and extended family. RIP Tommy.
