A great man has passed and the world is a poorer place. My first memory of Tommy was seeing him play with Rovers in Milltown. He oozed class on the pitch. Later when I got to work with him in Canada Life that same class was evident in his dealings with everybody in that company. I can honestly say that I am a better person for having known Tommy.

Deepest condolences to the Hamilton family on the death of Tommy. I grew up privileged to witness Tommy playing for Shamrock Rovers from Harold's Cross, Glenmalure Park to Dalymount Park, just some of many grounds as Con Houlihan would say, where he plied his trade. I was delighted to meet him at a PPU Dinner in the Shelbourne Hotel c.1978 where he was guest of honour. I seem to recall that one story we touched upon was a telephone call made to the school from Manchester United looking for Tommy to come over the following weekend to play for their youth team in a cup match. May Tommy, who enriched the lives of so many Rest in Peace.
