Very sorry to hear of Tommy’s passing I’ve known hiker for over 30years and had some great swims in the 40ft. Never heard anyone say a bad word about him he was a great character and always up for a bit of crack and laughter he will be sadly missed. Rip Hiker one of our own

As long as you remember him he never dies.

I have fond memories of him and he always encouraged me to think
Rather than just exist.

He was a man who went off the beaten track and went byond the intellectual world that he was born into.

He inspired me as a child to be the psychologist i am today.

Deepest and heart felt sympathy to Marie, Keith and Elaine, and all the family. I was just talking with Hiker any a few weeks ago and only heard he was ill the day before he passed away. He was a lovely man and a major part of the foundations of the current 40-foot family. He had such an amazing singing voice, always had time for a chat, and gave advice on things. He talked a lot about his hiking days in Co Wicklow, and I was lucky to be on the walk.he organised around the lakes in Roundwood. Rest in peace, dear Hiker.

I was so sad to hear of the passing of Hiker
I got advice from him about what bike to get went on hikes with to Wicklow with the 40ft bunch Celebrated his birthday in the 40ft
Hiker having a few tunes and the clicking of the fingers. Was talking to him a couple of weeks ago and did not know he was ill I gave him a photo that my brother in law James took of him in O Loughlin's
He was such a character and will all miss him in the 40ft
