So sorry to hear of Tiernan's sudden passing. My sympathies to his family at this sad and difficult time. Fond memories of good times shared in 2 College Green.

My sincere sympathy to Shane and all Tiernan's family and friends. I'm so shocked and saddened to hear of Tiernan's untimely death. I worked with Tiernan in College Green and again in Bridge St, Cork. He had a great sense of humour, and what a laugh, it would make you laugh. I hope your happy memories will sustain you now and into the future. May Tiernan rest in peace.

Our condolences to Tiernan’s family. I had the privilege of working with him in Rotunda Branch before he moved to Cobh. He was a valued colleague and friend. My sincere condolences to all of the extended O’Rourke family, I had the pleasure of working with Tiernan in BOI Bray and again in St Stephen’s Green. I played with “Chippy” in the BOI soccer 7-asides in Knockrabo, a truly great person. May he rest easy now.

Shane, I was shocked and saddened to hear that Tiernan has unexpectedly passed away. My deepest condolences to you and all your
family on your very sad loss. Tiernan always joined us at our annual Bank of Ireland Pensioners golf outings when we played for your late father's trophy ( The Frank O'Rourke Perpetual Cup ) Personally it meant a lot to me, that he took the trouble to travel long distances to join us; his encouragement and enthusiasm for these events, plus his enjoyment of them never diminished over the years. His presence each year was appreciated by all the players, and he will be sadly missed.

So dreadfully sorry and indeed shocked to hear about Tiernan. My deepest condolences to Shane and all the family. I first met Tiernan some forty years ago when we were colleagues in Phibsboro. He was fun to be around . I can still hear his trademark laugh. One day he took me aside and taught me to play backgammon. Around that time Tiernan spotted an ad in the newspaper . The fledgling Dublin Backgammon club inviting new members. We went along ,and as they say ,the rest is history. With Tiernan and I both married, and he in Cork , he was out of my immediate orbit. But we kept in touch through golf and backgammon tournaments. Only last Monday a day or two before he died, we discussed meeting our Irish and International friends at the annual Clonakilty tournament in March. If you want to make God laugh , make a plan ! Privileged and blessed I am having had Tiernan as a good friend. He is now reunited with his beloved parents Frank and Rose. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him. Rest In Peace dear friend.
