As a former pupil of Nenagh vocational School from 1976-78 Timmy’s class for woodworking and mechanical drawing were the classes that I remember the most. His attention to detail was second to none and even small details ,the way he would teach the class wearing his white coat and pencils aligned perfectly in his upper pocket stood out vividly .Timmy definitely influenced me in the career path I choose.

Known as Tim or Tadhg by everyone else, but to his students he will always be affectionately remembered quite simply as Timmy.
A gifted woodwork teacher with a keen eye on the environment.
Fifty years ago, he was encouraging the farmers' sons on his class to plant a native broadleaf on their land. It took the policymakers another forty years to adapt that idea.
I always remember the attention that he took to maintain the tools and equipment in his room, an example for us all to follow in later life..
