I am deeply saddened to hear of Timmy’s passing. As our next-door neighbor, it was always a delight to hear him playing his music. For years, he faithfully made his Monday night trips to Scully’s Pub, where he seamlessly blended in with some of the best musicians around, always playing with skill and passion. It was a pleasure to see him appear on TV from time to time or perhaps at a Fleadh Cheoil. His talent and dedication will be greatly missed.

We had great fun when practicing the set for Scór asking Timmy could you do that again and again to get Jack Roche into step and all Timmy would do is throw the head back with the biggest laugh and smile.

Sincerest condolences to Sheila and Jim and family on the loss of Timmy, who will be remembered by all who knew him for the warmth and generosity of his character. Its thirty years since Timmy and I first played a few tunes, and we have enjoyed doing so two or three times a year ever since. His passing leaves a huge gap in the music of Sliabh luachra, and I -together with many other people- have lost a great friend. My trips across to Ireland will be the poorer without him.

Sincerest sympathy to Timmy's family and many close friends. He was a gentle person who carried a huge musical tradition which he shared generously with others. Musicians were delighted to be in his company because he brought not only tunes and stories to every gathering but also good humour. He first came to the Willie Clancy Summer School in the 1980s and his annual visits were always welcome occasions and his performance at the accordion recital a highlight of that event. He will be sadly missed by all the friends he made at the School.
