We only met once, in London, but there was voluminous correspondence between us over the last 15 years about family history. I couldn't have compiled my comprehensive family tree on the ancestry website, where the aim is to trace the complete descendants of our ancestor-in-common, Luke White King, without his enthusiasm and help. His history of the family online is a very good read.
It was always great to see him walking on the beach, he really loved the ocean and Killiney. He also helped me a lot professionally, I am so grateful for that. All the best Bassie
Dear Mary,

We were so sorry to hear that Tim had died while we were travelling. Please accept our warmest sympathy.
Dear Mary,

May you feel true comfort and support at this most difficult time and may the gift of Timothy and great memories give you solace.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad time.
Rest in peace Timothy.
Dear Mary, I know you must be heartbroken at this very sad time. Timothy was a wonderful and inspirational man. I enjoyed his company so much and we shared so many interests. I shall remember always the fun we had at your home in Killiney and when you came to us for memorable meals and parties over the years. I shall be forever grateful for the encouragement he gave me in my work on family history and ancestry. I was delighted when he introduced me to his cousin Francis King the distinguished writer who was a literary hero of mine from the 1970s. I shall miss him so much and remember him with great fondness. May he rest in eternal peace. Pat.
Mary please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of your husband Timothy.
