Timothy (Ted) Fitzgerald

It was only today, 12th March, that Gerard and I heard of the very sad news of Ted’s death. We knew Ted many years ago when I taught in Christians in both the primary and secondary school and he and Pat attended our wedding.
All I can say is that Ted Fitzgerald was a gentleman, a wonderfully committed teacher and a person of deep faith and integrity.
We may have lost touch over the years but memories of Ted are strong and valued.
To Pat, our deepest condolences - to his children, you were privileged to have a father like Ted, who adored every one of you.
Deepest sympathy also to Kathleen and all the Fitzgerald family. Rest in Peace Ted.

My Deepest Condolances to Patricia and all the family on the passing of Ted.

He was my Irish Teacher in 4th, 5th and 6th year, and I have no doubt that I broke the poor man's heart, as I coudn't pick up one word of Irish, no matter how hard he tried... I was absolutley useless.

But I think of him often, as he was a pure gent, who was kind, supportive and often spoke of life in general, and it was here, that I learned a great deal from him.

I had Mr Fitz (or “Johnny”) as both a 4th class primary school teacher and again for almost my entire secondary schooling as an Irish teacher. A man who was passionate about his subject. A huge passion for teaching Irish which stays with me though I’ve been abroad for 25 years. Definitely my most memorable teacher.
