TIMOTHY (TED) O'CONNELL

Sincere Sympathy to all Teddie's family at this sad time.
Ted was a sound man in many ways, as a family man, as a neighbour and as a Community Activist in the very best sense of the word. He was a Street Rep. when T.C.A was founded in the late 1960s and 70's he was a great supporter of T.A.C. and was a founding member of Freagh Residents' Ass. It was he that introduced the idea of having Open Air Mass celebrated annually in the locality and he proposed the building of a Marion Shrine in the Freagh and Vicar's Acre area and wholeheartedly got involved in Fundraising to this end. He quietly went about his duties as a Minister of the Eucharist at The Church of the Way of The Cross and as a P.C. all the while getting on with the ordinary ups and downs of daily living. The way he coped with Parkinson's in recent years is inspirational. His presence is very much missed in The Square.
