Sincere condolences to all of Tim’s family and friends at this very sad time. There is certainly no easy way to say goodbye to such a man. I met the lovely Tim O' Donovan back in 2000 when I came from Dublin to work in Mallow. From the very beginning he took me under his wing, a gentleman through and through and always with kind chat and that mischievous laugh! He would have some plan or other in the brew, busy living, connecting with people and making a positive difference everywhere he went. He was a fantastic contributor to the work of the Mallow Access Group and made significant contributions to the needs analysis that informed the establishment of the Gilbert Centre. Quietly and unassumingly working away with all of his life wisdom, integrity and pure decent human nature. We would cover a lot of ground in our chats, between stories of horses and cattle, school days of yore, access and equality issues for people with disabilities, planning fundraisers and generally about some event in Mallow Town. Always the chat would have a pleasant bit of fun and laugh about it and a gentle sprinkling of pride in his family would emerge. Go well Tim, may you Rest In Peace, your work is done, and done well, you showed equality, inclusion and care for us all by your very everyday actions, your legacy is left in the hearts and memories of those who knew you, and in the town of Mallow itself.
