When we were growing up Toby Burke was a household name and my father Dan O’Brien spent many happy hours in his garage. As we grew up and bought our first bangers of cars we also had need of Toby’s skills to keep them on the road long after their sell by date. He was a great mechanic and well liked by all who knew him. RIP Toby.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of your beloved Dad Toby. Our abiding memories of his garage are that we would be met with the voice of John McCormack or Richard Tauber . He made his workplace a cultural experience for his customers. We can’t ever remember him saying he could not fix a problem regardless of the age or condition of the car. He was noble and generous to all his customers. We will miss the odd visits to him. May his soul rest in peace.
