Tom Keane, what a lovely man, so bright, intelligent and witty person, who loved his beloved family, his myriad of friends, and the Central Statistics Office throughout his long and enjoyable life. So talented. A huge Cnoc Sion and Waterford hurling fan, (Up the Déise), son of the amazing and superb John Keane, one of the best hurlers of all time, Eternal Rest, Tom.

Have only just heard the very sad news of the death of Tom
Have many great memories of Tom in Lansdowne FC and our being part of the supporters club to New Zealand in1976. May you rest in peace.

I have just this minute learned of Tom's death. I was privileged to know Tom. He was a quiet genius. Pints with Tom in Hartigans were always great fun. We had planned to meet in Cork in February for Cork Con v Mary’s....I am devastated. Good bye Tom. I won't meet anyone like you again. So sad. Michael Farrell Dublin

I remember doing crosswords with him and I had hardly time to read the clues when he had already written in the solutions!!

Many years ago he helped me to settle into the CSO and introduced me to many of the local hostelries. In later years he was brave enough to move to Cork but he kept in touch and we had good times together. He’ll be fondly remembered by myself and Margaret. May he rest in peace.
