Thursday. Just heard of the death of Tom Carroll, Rest in Peace . Sorry to have missed his funeral. A great asset to lower Killester Avenue, with his work on improving our road side, and his lovely garden. Will miss chats as he sat outside until so recently.

Tom is gone. He was my tutor when I studied to be an Environmental Health Officer in the late 1960s. He was like a father figure to us and he moulded our small class of 18 into the perfect specimens. Tom was gifted at relieving the boredom of classroom arranging frequent visits to various interesting establishments like Jacobs and Guinness to further our hunger for knowledge! Tom Rest in Peace.
