I first got to know Tom back in the late 80s and early 90s when he used to bring racing pigeons up to the northern counties of Ireland to be released for racing back to their lofts in Galway, years later I met Tom again while fishing for salmon in Galway City, he invited me and a number of other anglers out to fish from his land beside the river Clare. I always had great chats with Tom not only on his land but also on the High Bank in Galway. We will all miss the great chats we had with Tom who was a true gentleman and friend. Sleep well Tom.

Deepest sympathy to all the family, I'm going to miss talking to Tom, I'd collect Brian from fishing, I'd park beside Tom's house, and he'd always come out, we would have a great chat about him working, and he knew my dad from castlegar, and also knew my aunt, I'm going to miss them chats, and when Brian didn't catch any fish, he say they'll be on the run tomorrow, he was a true gentleman, we gave him a home made fruit cake and he really enjoyed it.
