Tom was always very generous with his advice and help for me in the years at Kraft Foods and later when we had both left. I know he was also super grateful and happy he retired early and spent all those precious years back home again. We had a few great nights out in Zurich watching big football matches and Tom was there with the fellow Zurich Irish crew to “wet the baby’s head” when my 2nd boy was born. My deepest condolences to Mary and Damien and the entire family.

My deepest condolences to Tom’s family on his passing. I had the pleasure to get to know Tom in Zürich and kept in touch with him in those first retirement years at home. He was such a character, full of stories and wit.
I remember how thrilled he was to retire and be back home in Cork with family and enjoying time his grandchildren. Tom was such a gentleman and one of Ireland’s finest.

Sincere sympathy to all the family on the sad death of Tom. I knew him in the 1980s when the Cork ACCA members used to have monthly gatherings in the old Cork and County Club just off South Mall. Met up with him again last year and jointly reminisced on old times and departed colleagues. A perfect gentleman. May he rest in peace.

Sincere condolinces to you Mary and your family. I was a class mate of tom in primary school, secondary school and rtc as an accountancy student. I remember tom as as a young teenager with his lawnmower and can of petrol cutting lawns commercially in ballinlough. Advancing to working in the chipper, the golden fry, otherwise known to locals as johnnys. All this to fund a yellow mini car. To transport half of ballinlough students to the bright new shiny cork rtc in sept 1974. Met him after manybyears at our 50th school reunion and had a great chat with him. What a gentleman, a scholar and im sure a good judge of irish whiskey. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

It was with great sorrow that I heard of the passing of Tom, such a great great person, and yes, we did have such wonderful times when we worked together in Dowdall and O’Mahoney. Can I express my sincere condolences to Tom’s family at this sad time.
