So sorry for your loss Martina. My condolences to all of Tom's family and friends. May Tom rest in peace.
I had the pleasure of being in both primary and secondary school with Tommy and without a shadow of a doubt he was by far the most intelligent boy in our class and over the years we have regularly remarked on his gift. He had it in spades, he constantly confounded us with his ability to think quickly and act on his feet. I bumped into him not too long ago through mutual friends and I was delighted to see that same glint in his eye, that sense of good humour and that affable, gentle way he had about him that he carried lightly and wore easily. My mam at 84 would still talk about how respectful Tommy was to neighbours and others as a child growing up, when being respectful to your elders mightn't have been so cool, but Tommy always stopped, always said hello and properly engaged. Something Tommy did that made him stand out among us kids growing up was his free use of the words 'thank you'. He always thanked people genuinely even as a boy. He is very fondly remembered in Oakwood Avenue and we are all so sorry to hear of his fear too early death. Our sincerest condolences to Tommy's family, friends, neighbours and colleagues and all who will dearly miss him. All we can say Tommy is 'Thank You'. Leaba i measc na naomh go raibh aige.
Tom always brought a sense lighthearted enjoyment and humour to life's situations. It was a honour to have known him and thank him for the good times we all spent in his company.
