Sincere condolences to Silvia and the whole family. Tom's French was the best I ever heard from a non-national, good enough to get .the chauvinist Gaullist group in the European Parlaiment make him their secretary. His bubbling, irreverent sense of humour is also unforgettable.

.My condolences to Silvia and all Tom's family. at this tragic time.We met on a mission to Guinea and remained firm friends and i will miss his company, his jokes and his great political insight. We had so many good times in Seville and Huelva. He will be greatly missed.

Deepest sympathy to Tom’s family on his untimely passing.We both remember him fondly from our schooldays in Ennis.Uniquely back in the mid 1960s he was the driving force in setting up a branch of UNICEF in Ennis together with us fellow teenagers- what a great experience that was! We reconnected later in life in Renvyle,Foxrock and Portugal and I was delighted to meet him at our 50th class reunion in 2018.Meeting up with Tom was always interesting , stimulating and never dull..RIP

It was with deep shock and sorrow that I learnt this morning of Tom’s trespassing. Fond memories of the years of working together in the political group at the European Parliament will always remain. My heartfelt condolences to Tom’s wife Silvia, to his children and whole family. RIP, dear friend.

My family and I are very sorry to learn of Tomàs Earlie’s passing. We were, similarly, sorry to learn of the premature passing of Tomàs’ only son, David, just two years ago. It, also, only seems like yesterday when I went to visit auntie Margaret- Tomàs’ mother- in Ennis, County Clare. Margaret Earlie was very proud of her family and rightly so. Our thoughts and prayers are with Silvie, Tomàs’ extended family and his many friends and colleagues around the world. “Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.”

We are so saddened to hear of the passing of Tom. Having met in Cambodia in 1993, we had an immediate connection and Tom was very supportive of the Irish Gardaī serving there at that time. When we returned from overseas duty he kindly invited a number of us to his home for a celebratory meal. An example of the true gentleman that he was.
