Sincere condolences to all of Tom's family on the passing of this very good man. At the age of 9 in 1993, he accepted my enrolment in the band as a new member after registration had ended and no new applicants were to be accepted, after he listened to my mother's plea on my behalf.

Now over 30 years later, I can say that my membership of the band was one of the best experiences of my life.

As administrator of the band, he was always fair and worked in the best interests of the band members: always keeping their welfare as a priority. He was a very effective manager.

I'll always be very grateful to Tom for his kindness. May he rest in peace.

Ann and family, we were both really sad to get “that” call from you, and we wish Tom the peace and happiness of Heaven.
I worked with Tom for many years and we were so in tune we almost finished each other’s sentences!
We discussed, at length, the merits of Limerick’s footballers, long before there was talk if winning “5 in a row”
He never missed that birthday phone all and the reminder to “Give that girl a can of Coke!”
The man that Tom was might be gone, but the spirit of the Legend lives on in happy memories.
God give you all the strength needed to get through the dark days.

Sincerest condolences to Ann and all the Garry families on the passing of Tom. We knew Tom when he worked in The Artane Boys Band years ago. A lovely man who will be missed. Rest in peace Tom.

To Ann and family. I extend my sincere condolences on the passing of your dear husband and father, Tom.

Tom gave many years of dedicated service to the Artane Boys Band and School of Music, first as Treasurer of the Board and later as Band and School Administrator.

Tom was a brilliant character, a man of great charisma, full of joy and fun. He was strict in his adherence to a strong sense of discipline and the ethos that underpinned the organisation, but was always extremely fair to those with whom he dealt. I will remember him as a decent, honest and hard working man who had the betterment of Artane members always to the fore.

I have many great memories of Tom from those famous Christmas Concerts at Guardian Angels NS; the many concerts throughout the length and breath of Ireland, when it wasn't unusual for Tom to be seen standing on a chair to the side of the stage to lead an audience in a rendition of Sweet Caroline; and of course our world travels when we toured Canada, Russia and the US.

Tom was instrumental, together with our parents, ensuring that a contingent of Artane Band members were present at the beatification of Edmund Rice in Rome, 1996 to represent Artane and perform for the Pope. We remember that trip with great fondness.

Ann, you were always by his side. I extend our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to you all. Take comfort from the many tributes and memories of Tom you will undoubtedly share in the coming days.
