Dear Liz my sympathy to you and all the family on your great loss.

Tom was a life long friend through school, rugby Aer Lingus after school holidays and meetings. Most of all a shared passion for music. Tom's sister - Margaret - worked in Peter Owens advertising agency and would get the top 10 three days earlier than in was released in the New Muscial Express (NME). Every Tuesday afternoon Tom would return with the top 10 and we peruse and discuss movements during and after class.

Our shared interest in music helped to keep our contact up particularly in recent years during Tom's illness. He told me about his "den" at home where he could go and play his vinyl acculumated in the 60s and 70s, Most recently I remember our discussions on the latest Bob Dylan album for whom he retained a life long regard.

One the losses of Covid is that we could not have our annual class reunion which I know Tom enjoyed greatly. Although we knew of his illness his passing came as a great sadness. For you the loss must be unbearable.
Suffice to say we are all the better for having known him.

Maurice

Very little contact with Tom since school days but our annual reunions reinforced my opinion that Tom was a gentleman in every sense of the word.
A classmate.
Very sad to hear of Tom's passing. Used to enjoy a game of poker with him in the old home where his Dad liked to join in. Enjoyed a pint with him in the old Kearney Arms and often a game of snooker. He was a great pole vaulter. The class of '65 will all miss him. May he rest in peace.
