Tom and I both studied Applied Physics at the University of Limerick. Tom was super-intelligent and always pushed the boundaries when it came to scientific innovation. He was quick witted, and his humour would often leave many of us in fits of laughter. I look back at my time with Tom at university and the years after with great fondness. My sincere condolences to the Lawlor family on the sudden passing of Tom.

I worked with Tom for a number of years in AMCS. He was extremely intelligent and a brilliant engineer. He was also a wonderful person, and went above and beyond to help me out on many occasions. Tom was brilliant company, with a fantastic wit and sense of humour, and I have many happy memories. I am very saddened to hear of his passing. My deepest sympathies to all of Tom's family and friends.
