An absolute gent of a man. Fond memories of when Tom and myself used to man the gate & car park in DLSP back in the AIL Div 1 days when you’d often get 1k + attending. (And so many who’d avoid me and try and take advantage of Tom’s kindness).

I grew up in your kitchen, which was always the main gathering place before, after, and during important events. We were eternally eating tea and toast. I will always remember Tom cracking jokes and being the prankster. His love of sports was infectious, and he always had kind words to say about everyone.

A lovely man and will be so missed

We were greatly saddened to learn today that our very good friend, Tom, has passed away. We have known Tom and Clare for 48 years and we enjoyed a wonderful friendship for all that time, despite the fact that we emigrated 33 years ago, Tom Lillis was a gentleman who enjoyed life, loved his family and friends and was a committed fan of Rugby, particularly DLSP and Leinster, and of the Dubs. He has never spoken ill of anybody and saw the best in and drew the best from all whom he encountered.
We will always remember our evenings together in Rathfarnham or Kilmacud, going to the chipper to get a couple of singles and a sliced pan to share over an evening cuppa.
Our deepest condolences to Clare, David, Karl and Teresa, the grandchildren, daughters and son in law and to the extended family.

Denise and. I are saddened to hear of Tom’s passing.. We were very fond of Tom.My memories include sitting with him at a Rugby World Cup final, an All Ireland final and on the train coming back from “some” match in Portadown. Denise and I often bumped into Tom and Clare on Dun Laoghaire pier . A casual chat could last over 20 mins such was the company.. Our heartfelt condolences to the Lillis family. at this sad time.
