Our deepest sympathy. I am a distant relation. My grandfather, James McHale, came from Borradruma and married into the Cooney farm, Clogher, Westport. I am a native of Westport .
We watched the funeral mass this morning on the webcam.
Maybe another coincidence my wife's brother, Henry Allen, Chicago was married to a Maureen Cooney from Tibohine, Frenchpark. She died just before Christmas last.

Always looked forward to meeting Tom on his travels to Mayo Abbey. A true gentleman who will be missed greatly.

I did not know Tom myself but I have been friends with Triona for over 30yrs.
She has always talked about him with such love in her eyes. It was devasting when her mum died at such a young age. Tom was there for and helped her through such a tough time.
He has had such an impact on her life, her husband Rob, and in later years on her two children Paddy & Billy who love him dearly.
Sleep well Tom. You will be missed.
