To Moya and the Neacy family: Most sincere condolences on the sad passing of your beloved husband and father.
I knew Tom since 1982. On one memorable occasion, Tom and I contested a singles match in the October Bank Holiday Weekend tournament. Our match was on Court 7, right beside the clubhouse and was scheduled for late on the Saturday evening, when the social part of the weekend was in full swing. Our match drew quite a crowd. The match became an epic, with many lengthy rallies, eventually being decided by a tiebreaker in the third set, which finished close to 11pm. Tom often reminded me of that match over the many years since.
My wife, Sheila, and I met Tom and Moya at a coffee shop in Briarhill a few years ago and had an enjoyable chat.
Tom made an amazing recovery from his stroke, due to much hard work on his part and the loving support of his family. Tom faced the challenge with his typical full-on approach and refreshing honesty.
Tom always had a smile and unique infectious laugh. He loved to chat to friends and was wonderful and sincere company. He spread the kind of goodwill that is needed in our world. Hopefully his karma will continue as Tom has moved to his deserved reward.
Those of us left behind must be grateful for Tom, who enriched and brightened up our lives. We would like to have had him for longer. But God decides.

Rest in Peace, dear Tom.
