Our sincere sympathies to Fergal and the Nealon family on the very sad passing of Tom Nealon. Tom was a gifted teacher and simply the most inspiring teacher, lecturer or motivator that I came across in life. After some sixty years, he still had the unique ability to give you a lift whenever you met him with the warmth of his smile and a few simple words of familiarity and encouragement.
May he rest in peace.

Sincere condolences to the family and friends of our late teacher and friend Tom. He was a great character, a very friendly and positive person. He contributed greatly to our town of Carrick, not only as a teacher but also in organising sports and drama for the children. He acted in many plays himself. Mostly we admired his friendly and positive spirit. He will long be remembered.
My condolences to the Nealon family. I had Tom in the Green School in the 60’s and our treat once a week was a reading from the Irish book Jimeen which he would read with such enthusiasm . Tom was a kind, generous and lovely teacher. Had great chats with him in later adult life. He was the well known blow in , loved and respected by all that came in contact with him through school, sport, the arts, the Irish language and much more. May he rest in peace.

To his family & friends..
Tom was a rare breed who left a positive mark on those he taught, coached, performed with or met via a chance encounter. The biggest compliment I can pay is you would feel the better for an interaction with him.
His lovely warm smile & big personality will be sadly missed.

I have very happy memories of acting with Tom in Brewery Lane Theatre in Carrick in the mid 1980s, when I lived in the town. He was a great actor and had such a lovely welcoming way about him. RIP
My sincerest condolences to the Nealon family, what a wonderful man Tom was and what a positive impact he had on so many lives over the years. Tom always had the kindest of words when we met and always took such an interest in what I was up to (and I have the fondest memories of him when running around Brewery Lane when I was little while my dad, Martin, did the sets for the plays). I met Tom a good few years ago and when leaving, he said to me "Keep the faith...whatever that may be". That phrase has stuck with me always and it (and him) always makes me smile when I recall it.
Our deepest sympathy to Mairead, Fergal and all their family on the sad passing of Tom . How does one even begin to describe such wonderful years in the company of a true gentleman ?. His memory, his companionship, his very presence on the stage of life -- a loss beyond words. He will forever be in our song and story, our script, our telling of tales. You will entertain them, Tom, in the great beyond. Thank you for your years of friendship.
Deepest codolences to Mairead, Fergal and the extended Nealon family on the passing of your beloved Tom.
Tom truly was an inspiration to all that met him in the Greenschool over 46 years as a Teacher and Principal. He instilled a love of gaeilge, gaelic games and the arts. A true Gentleman of the highest standing.

I am so sad and so very sorry to hear of Tom's passing. My deepest condolences to his family. He truly was a wonderful man, and a source of inspiration to me, and to so many people. On life's path you can be lucky to meet very special people....I met one such person at the Brewery Lane Theatre, Tom Nealon, and you know that a light has gone out in your life with his death. When I first auditioned for him way back in 2018....I knew he was a master of his craft, and I felt like the luckiest person in the world when he cast me as Agnes in "The Mai". At the start of each week, I would be so looking forward to our next rehearsal, as Tom would invariably make it a masterclass in acting, and yet so much fun. I also loved the time I spent in his company at the various committee meetings, where he would smile that wonderful smile that he had. In January 2024 last, Tom came along to our very first reading of "Glorious" ....and he had that lovely smile on his face as we finished the reading .... I knew then we were on a winner with this play. His expert knowledge and advice proved to be invaluable over the following weeks... I shall be forever grateful to him for that. I shall miss him. May Tom's gentle soul Rest in Peace.

My deepest sympathies to the Nealon family. Tom, enriched the lives of so many people in Carrick, myself included. Brewery Lane Youth Drama on a Wednesday night was literally the highlight of our week, where Tom afforded us all the unique opportunity to express ourselves and instilled in me, a love for theatre that is still as strong today. I feel so privileged to have known Tom and I will cherish the fond memories always. Rest in peace Tom.

An inspirational teacher and a gifted actor and producer with a vast knowledge and appreciation of amateur drama. He will be greatly missed.
The words of my late father Bryan McMahon with whom
Tom had many a great conversation about plays and the stage are indeed appropriate
“ One by one, they leave us, Those who it almost seems that if God, After he had made them and smiled on seeing they were Unique, had then decided to break the mould that gave them shape….
Those who knew him require no touchstone to recall him,
Those who did not know him can never have him explained to them”
