My sincere condolences to May & family. I enjoyed many happy interactions with Tom. As a youngster I always enjoyed his writing & saw that he spoke our language. He was our Dahl. A tough business operator but always humourous. May he rest in peace

I am after reading of Tom's death today the 26-01-23 and I am in the shock. I read his coloum every time I got Ireland 's own. I am reading his article now with tears I can feel and see what is he is talking about. I never met the man but I think I knew him. My condolences to his wife, daughters, son, brothers and sisters. Our deepest sympathy to the Nester family on Tom's passing. Just before Christmas I got his book The keeper of Absalom's island in a bookshop in Tralee . I am only half way true it yet .I like the chapter about Langford the gold flinch. Also sense I arrived in Limerick 50 years age . I always read & enjoyed his articles in the Limerick Leader. Tom is in the same mode as a another west Limerick writer Kevin Danagher who's articles I read in the Beet book over 60 years ago. Rest in peace Tom.

To all the Nestor Family I send my sympathy on the sad passing of a grand man. He was granted his fair share of literary talent that was well recognised. I was happy to meet him in Co.Kildare once upon a time and we chatted about writing and the struggle to keep working at it sometimes without due recognition. And in between we spoke of my native Limerick and his career with the Limerick Leader. His stories will live on.
