Just heard the sad news that Tom has died. What a nice man always very helpful. Remember him from Ballycotton days too and CBC with my brothers.🙏☘️

Only just heard the very sad news. Deepest condolences to Claire and family. Being neighbors and friends for many years Tommy will be greatly missed. A lovely fellow and nice gentleman. So sorry!

Sincere sympathy to Claire, Rachel, Jennifer, William, and Paul on the sad loss of your beloved husband and father. I was a classmate of Tom through primary and secondary education and also a near neighbour - we often cycled to school together to CBC. Our respective parents were also good friends. I vividly recall his youthful vivacity and impish sense of humour. It is clear from the many tributes that he has left an indelible mark in both his personal and professional lives. May his gentle soul rest in peace. To conclude with the words of the Bard: 'Your cause of sorrow must not be measured by his worth, for then it hath no end'.

To Claire and the whole O'Connor family, my sincere sympathies on the loss of Tom. He was a superb surgeon who always placed the care of his patients at the centre of everything he did professionally. He was a very dear colleague who was unfailingly friendly, supportive and without ego. He was also an outstanding teacher of multitudes of UCC medical students. He will be missed but always remembered fondly by me and everyone who had the good fortune to work alongside him. May he rest in peace.
