Dear Rose, Miriam, Amy and Patrick,
I was so sorry to hear about Tom. I remember him as being so encouraging when he gave me maths grinds for the Leaving Cert. I also recall when he took myself and Miriam to the Young Scientist, and when we (often) called to the house, I remember him playing his guitar, with Scooby never far away. Happy memories from Ashleigh and Garryvoe.

Our thoughts are with you all. Tom was such a kind & gentle man. I'll always remember him taking the time to talk with me on phone to assure me I had done ok on day of leaving cert results many years ago. More recently he gifted Liam some records that of course included the Beatles. This was life changing for Liam. Gerry & himself can argue over ownership of said album. So many fond memories from days of Ashleigh Drive. Rest in peace Tom.

To my wonderful neighbours of old, I’m so sorry for this loss of a wonderful man who loved his garden and his Roses and married one perfectly named so. To Miriam, Amy, Patrick, to Brain and Geraldine and all the fabulous grandkids may you all remember his gifts and big smile that he so softly shared, his kind demeanour, his love of dogs and the outdoors. Sincere condolences to Rose, Patrick, Amy and Miriam on the passing of Tom. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Tom, I often heard his name mentioned. He was always remembered with such fondness by so many teachers in DCS. From what I have heard, in the classroom he was gentle, kind and a true gentleman - essential qualities of those involved in the teaching profession. He was the ultimate professional. Outside the classroom Tom's generosity flowed. He aimed to broaden the minds of his students and organised many school tours abroad. Tom also was a huge support to our entries in the Young Scientist competition. He will be dearly missed.
