Dear Marie, it was with great sadness that I heard of Tom's passing. I was unable to attend Tom's Funeral Mass this morning but I was able to watch it on the live web link. It was a lovely mass and your son Jamie spoke beautifully. It was a shock to hear that Tom was only diagnosed 5 weeks ago. I shed many tears this morning thinking of you and Tom and how welcoming, kind and lovely you guys were to both Laura and I when we would meet in St Helens. Great days! No words can really express the great loss you are now experiencing. But from what Jamie said this morning you have a strong and close family network including the families that your children have married into. I am sure that they will help you greatly over the coming weeks and months and that they will do as Tom asked them - "look after your Mam" . Please accept my condolences to you and your family and may Tom Rest in Peace.

I was so very sorry to hear of Tom's passing and my deepest condolences to his wife Marie and all his family. We have many fond memories of our colleague and a true gentleman.

We loved bumping into Tom in St Helens as he was a great neighbour, company on the golf course & always so friendly, the chats could go on for a long time especially when he was out walking the dog.
