Since the first day I met Tom when he interviewed me for Med Lab he was the kindest mentor and best advisor.He was my Lecturer in GMIT, Chief Scientist in UCHG, He did his Doctorate while I did my Fellowship working together on out beloved TB project...he took me with him to the Advisory board of the Academy of Med Lab and did so much for our profession...but most of all he was he loved his family and was our much loved friend...sincere condolences to Maureen and family and to Ned and family and surely ni mbeidh a leithead aris ann

Tom had a great mind, a great outlook and prospective and made a big impact on those he met. He travelled to Ros Muc regularly when we set up CLS and helped us grow into confident microbiologists and build CLS in the mid 90's. His down to earth way made him approachable to all and we loved him as a mentor and friend. He was great company and had brilliant stories.
