Condolonxes and sympathies to the Mac's of Crusheen as known in our house.
We used to hear great stories between Tom and our Grandfather Joe and our Dad Finbarr many a time . They used to love going to Crusheen on the chance they would meet Tom Mac.
Dad had an illegal prize possession of a Clare county u21 medal that Tom helped with acquiring. The mileage they got out of that story was priceless.

Rest in peace Tom.

I had the pleasure of working with Tom for a brief spell in the early 70s and every day was full of storytelling and hurling banter. A real gentleman.

Our dear cousin, Tom, was always a very welcome night visitor to our house in Crusheen back in the 40s and early 50s. His unique style of storytelling was so enjoyed by all who were lucky enough to be in his company. Up in Tom’s own house, when we visited as children, he sang songs -The Wild Colonial Boy, The May Morning Dew and a few more with great enthusiasm and feeling. When we returned as adults, we received the same Céad Míle Fáilte and were regaled by his stories of the past. An hour in the company of Tom and my sister Fanchea was a rare pleasure. Ní bheidh a leithéid arís ann. Suaimhneas síoraí dá anam uasal.

What a character. He made a great impression on me during the short time that our paths crossed. It was a privilege to know Tom even for a short time.
An anecdote, after Another solo run on a wet day the hurl flew out of my hand and the ball landed at my Feet, I shouted at Tom for “Resin” - his reply in his Broad Clare accent “Resin my backside grap a grip of that stick and stop your shapin”
RIP Tom.

Tom was of very strong character with a thoroughly solid Irish outlook, particularly the GAA. He had a great knowledge of the folklore of the Crusheen locality which he could describe with very humorous wit. We were at all times happy to meet him and be in his company as we always adored his jokes.

Sincere condolences to Crusheen Gaels and to the extended family of the legendary Tom Mac, as you mourn his passing. A warrior of the sod to rival Cuchulainn, a wordsmith to rival Behan and an eidetic raconteur par excellence. An almost mythological gaelic figure, of the folklore of Crusheen and Clare and hurling life; one who will be fondly remembered by all those he made impression upon and of whom there were very many in this world. May Tom's noble soul Rest In Heavenly Peace.

Tom was a wonderful and most interesting person that you could possibly meet.
His knowledge and wisdom on most subjects was amazing. His wit and turn of phrase was a joy to hear. He will be missed.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Tom was always a part of our life. When we lived in Low Street, Crusheen ( our terminology) in the 1940s and 1950s he was a regular night time visitor. He would tell tall tales and we sat on the steps of the kitchen stairs in wonder at all the "giants" he knew. It was like tales of the Fianna.
One night he was telling my father about a fracas after a match and his memorable words were " Jesus, Tadhg you would not have liked to be there with your low shoes on you, the blood was flowing".
We will all miss Tom. Leaba i measc na naomh go raibh aige.

Rest in peace. A loss to all Crusheen. A builder of hurling teams and houses.
R.I.P. Tom, many happy memories of Tom when he was building our house in Ballyline. Knew he was en route when we heard the light blue volkswagon pick up with the cement mixer in the back. Always had a laugh even when the dog used to rob his lunch that he would leave sitting on a nearby wall.
