Tom (Thomas) Moore

Sincere condolences to my great friends and neighbours on the sad and premature passing of Tom. We grew up together played together and went to school together from our entrance into this world. Tom was a man of great intellect humour and ability and always viewed everything from a positive point of view. This positivy stool Tom in good stead in the many years of serious illness which he bore with great dignity. He fought the good fight and may he rest peacefully under the sod of his beloved Drumphea.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Tom Moore. Working with Tom was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. He was not only an outstanding manager but also a truly inspiring and compassionate person. His guidance, integrity, and unwavering support left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to work with him. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. Tom's legacy will live on in the many lives he touched.

I told Finbarr at the wake that I met Nodlaig through African Dance classes in the mid-90s; I clarified that Tom was not a participant! I'd say he would have liked the music though! After that I worked for them in (Sil)Aria culminating in an amazing off-site in Prague, accompanied by the lovely Milly! Since then we've been friends despite all my migrations! With Tom's passing, I no longer have my "phone a friend" for "Who Wants to be a Millionaire"! Nodlaig and Milly, you have taken such good care of Tom; apart from his health, he was a lucky man. I have never known a man so determined to live against all odds. Go n-éirí an bóthar libh go léir 💚

I am saddened to hear about the passing of Tom. We were in NIHE Dublin at the same time. I enjoyed Tom’s company back then. He was very interesting and so knowledgeable.

In college I remember Tom's love of Christy Moore, Moving Hearts and bridge. He wasn't keen on Miami Vice suits, pointy shoes and white socks -- he was more of an army coat and Doc Martens man. I never knew him to take a drink but he was great company in The Slipper. We won't see his like again.

Given that Tom and I haven`t seen each other since the summer of 1985, it seems ridiculous to say I was looking forward to our next chance to meet and chat together. But I was, and I am sad that chance is now gone.
For 4 years at NIHED, Tom and I debated countless times in the canteen over lunch, back and forth on the matters of the day and of the era, learning from each other as we passionately argued and counter argued.
We shared lectures, labs, lecture notes, ups and down, and many laughs together.
We were friends, and I am saddened by his passing.
