It was with great sadness I learned of the passing of Tom while attending Ivan Harper’s funeral Mass on Friday - two great Fingal stalwarts - may they rest in peace - I have known Tom well nigh over 60 years - a lovely friendly man and one hell of a mean bowler and cricketer indeed . It was with great saddness to hear about the passing of my beloved Uncle Tom.
Tom was a great influence in my early life and taught me all the important things like horse racing, dog racing, cards and of course cricket, which was played every evening on the lawn in Walshestown.
We have always had a close relationship with regular visits and I was delighted to see him when he called for tea the day before he went into hospital, which is a memory I will always treasure.
My deepest sympathies to my cousins John, Angela, Michael, Thomas, Deirdre, Joseph and Josephine to whom he was a wonderful dad.

So sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved Dad and Grandad. He was a lovely man. His last visit to Hedgestown School for Grandparents Day when Aoibhin was leaving was a very special and emotional one. He proudly informed us that he had been coming to the school for 90 years.
He is very fondly remembered by us here.
