We were so sad to hear of Tom's passing and our condolences to his sisters Dolores and Phyllis, his brother Brendan and the extended O' Briain and O'Flaherty families. He was a good friend to our whole family over the years, both in Dublin and when he visited us in Kilkenny. As a fellow teacher Tom's vision for education was exemplary and he was always willing to share his wonderful ideas. Tom, you enriched all our lives and it was a pleasure to have known you. Go mbeidh leaba agat i measc na naomh
I am sad to learn of the death of Tomás. I knew him through education circles. He had so many interests and was among the first to see the potential of computers in education and was generous in passing on that knowledge. Covid stopped the meet ups of the retired teachers in Ballyroan so I hadn't seen him in a while. Deepest sympathy to his family and friends. May Tomás rest in peace
Sincere condolences on the death of Tomas.

He was very kind and caring and will be remembered always.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Tomas. I worked with him in the Schools ICT Advisory Service until 2008. What a gentleman and always willing to offer his well-informed advice and support. May his gentle soul now rest in peace.
Very sad to hear of the passing of a wonderful former work colleague of St Mark’s Senior school.Starting out on my teaching profession, Tom was a great support and example to me of what an excellent teacher should look like. Dedicated and thorough in all he did and yet kind and willing to help in whatever way he could. A good friend, even came to visit us here in Mozambique.
Go ndéana Dia grásta ar a anam.
I first met Tomás in 2000 and later worked alongside him as an ICT Advisor in the NCTE.for a number of years. Tomás was a man of many talents who carried his gifts lightly. He was great colleague and I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend a week abroad with him at an international conference in Budapest. It was there I learned that Tomás was respected by teachers from many countries as much as he was by his Irish colleagues. He had a great interest and love for education that stayed with to the very end .Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal. Slán Tomás.
My sincere sympathy to all Tom's family and to all who grieve for him. As a past member of St Mark's staff, I had the honour of working with Tom. Go dtuga Dia suaimhneas siorai do.
Condolences to all the O Briain family. Tomas was a very kind man. He consistently supported and gave voice to those who were less well off. He will be missed. RIP.
Our sincere condolences to Dolores Brendan Phyllis and all the family. Rest in peace now Tomas.
Deepest sympathy to all of his family on Tomás's passing. I first met Tomás in Tallaght INTO Branch many years ago; then and always in the years since he was modest about his many interests and talents, and good to meet. He will be missed among his many teacher, and retired teacher, friends. RIP

Deepest sympathies to Tom's family. We never got to have that coffee on Tuesday morning, Tom!
Deepest sympathy to all of Tom’s family on his passing.
We have many fond memories of time spent working with Tom in St. Mark’s. His classroom was always a hub of activity. The children would all be gainfully absorbed in a diverse range of indoor and outdoor learning activities. He challenged them and he challenged us, his colleagues, with his vision for education, with which he was so far ahead of his time.
In retirement and even in declining health, his interest in education never waned. His Saint Mark’s family remained very important to him. He kept up contact with those of us still there and pre Covid, with retired staff members through his S.M.A.R.T group.
Go raibh suaimhneas síoraí ort anois a Thomáis
Ní dhéanfar dearmad ort go deo
Had the pleasure of meeting Tomas a few weeks back, he was such a lovely kind man
My sincere condolences to all his family at such a sad time
R.I.p
Tom ❤️
