Memories of Tomás: his adjusting his local authorities’ priorities to get experience of a Town Clerk’s wider range of experience; saving a key CBS photo abandoned upon transfer from John’s Lane; tracking down and ensuring restoration of Taylor memorial at Lisboney Railway Bridge.

My sincere sympathy to the Ryan family on the sad passing of Tomás . I worked with Tomás for many years in Ennis Urban Council and Ennis Town Council . Tomás was a true gentleman who treated everybody both his collogues and the public with professionalism , respect , and courtesy . I knew Tomás since the very early 1980s and I can say it was always an absolute pleasure to meet him either socially or as a colleague . Over that long number of years I heard him speak and I can say I never heard him say one bad word about anybody . A very knowledgeable man who was always ready to help anybody who needed it . It was a privilege and an absolute pleasure to have worked with him

He gave voluntary service on the board of Oidhreacht an Chláir, in Miltown when in we were trying to get the project off the ground and he never spared any effort. His guidance and personal commitment were invaluable. In the course of the work, we became personal friends, a friendship I greatly valued.
