I first met Tommy at the weekly whist game in Clonaslee in the mid 80's, the name Fingleton, Cushen and Ramsbottom were surnames my late mother used to mention from her time in Co Laois , she lived with her late aunt Bridget Keane who was a National School teacher in Ratheniska in the early 1940's.she went to the Portlaoise (Maryborough) Vocational School for a number of years . her best friend was the late Bessie Lynam (nee Quinn) Rosenallis . Tommy was curious when I told him about her schooldays and visited our home in Co Westmeath and immediately became friends with our family and visited us regularly as well as our brothers garden centre in Abbeylara where he helped out most summer Sundays Sympathy to all his family from the Boland family R.I.P. A regular visitor to our homes over the last 30 years and so generous with his home grown product. Always looked forward to his visits and now looking back with fond memories. Tom was a total gentleman and may he Rest in Peace.

We looked forward to seeing him on many, many Sunday afternoons, arriving with his loaf of beautiful brown bread. He loved helping out in the garden centre in Abbeylara. Condolences to the Fingleton family on the death of Tom. A regular visitor to our home over the past twenty five years, having first met while attending Clopook graveyard Mass, the resting place to some of his ancestors. Tom had great recall of earlier traditions & methods of work which we enjoyed hearing about. He was so generous with his home grown produce, eggs & homemade brown bread. Having no knowledge of poultry we gained a lot of information from him, tempting us into the sector! The light of Heaven to you Tom & we know you will be happily reunited with your loved ones gone before you.
