Tommy McManamon

We were very saddened and sorry to hear of Tommy’s passing. Our family (Collins) and Tommy’s, were neighbours for many years. When my brother and I visited recently, Tommy came out to greet us, sharing wonderful stories of our grandparents which we shall always treasure. Tommy was very well thought of and respected by all our family, he was a part of our story in Townagh, Mayo and a strong connection to our roots there. May his gentle soul RIEP. I was very sorry to hear of Tommy’s passing on Friday morning. I have been thinking of the many shared memories we had growing up in Townagh — from our early school days to the happier times we found along the way. He was sharp-witted, intelligent, and great company, and those memories will always stay with me.

Very sorry to hear of Tommy’s passing. It was too early. My sincere condolences to John Joe, Paddy, Breege, Peter, Eileen, Christy and all the rest of the family. Of late I saw Tommy only once in a blue moon but I was always happy when our paths crossed. He had an interesting and original view on the world. And we owe so much appreciation for the way every Friday like clockwork he drove your mother Maura down to visit our mother, they were by then the two oldest women in the village. Our mother so looked forward to those neighbourly visits. Rest in peace Tommy.
