As one rolls thru.the glowing tributes for Tony, an old soul reflects. Even back to his parents Eddie and Mrs Lacey from Closh, and to our still dear
friends Padraig and Rita. Childhood days invited to the Lacey homestead when both friendship.and nourishing dinners were much appreciated.
Years ago, Marie and i.met Tony and Ann at the Pattern or Blessings of the
Graves in Rathanna Co. Carlow. We both had respects to.pay to exceptional family members. What a joy that was.
Our dear friend Martin Meaney recently visited Tony and kept us informed.
Tony was indeed an exceptional person as was his family. We salute his
life and memory.

I was saddened to hear about Tony's passing and I extend my sympathy to Ann and the Lacey family. I worked with Tony over 30 years ago when he was chairman of the Slieve Margy group. We often chatted for an hour outside St. Anne's Hall in the cold, chatting about farming or local history. He was very knowledgeable and had a great smile. Our thoughts are with you at this sad time.

An extremely kind and helpful man who's presence will be sorely missed in and around Ballylinan and beyond for years to come , a go to man in the community who would help out in any situation without counting the cost and done in a most humble and dignified way has left a legacy many aspire to achieve but very few attain in this life is testament to the person Tony was .
