We are heartbroken to say goodbye to a man who showed unwavering strength and made us all love to spend time with him throughout his life.
Thank you, Da Baker, for all the good times and all the gentle moments—especially those Sunday mornings around Margaret's breakfast table, when you, Tommy and Sophie always got your breakfasts first, in that exact order. Poor Jean was usually a bit further down the line, and we’ll always smile at that memory.
Thank you for the endless warmth and welcomes you showed to me and to Sophie through all the years. You were a gentle, kind good soul.
I will miss your hugs, your brilliant sense of timing as we waited for your punchlines to land, and your endless catalogue of jokes. You loved music, and you loved nature—but above all else, you loved your family. That was always clear and always felt.
Thank you for teaching us, in your quiet way, how a true gentleman behaves.
