Tony was a colleague of mine on the London Underground for a number of years. He was based at Euston, which was one of the stations I had responsibility for, and it was always a pleasure to find that he was on duty when I visited there. He was both an excellent and able colleague and a thoroughly decent and friendly person.
I'm glad that he was able to return home to Ireland to be with his family after retirement.
I was very sad on learning of his passing, and I know from contacts with other London Underground colleagues that they also were sad to hear of it. I have seen many comments on social media that show that he was both greatly liked and very appreciated as a colleague and a person.
My sincere condolences to his family and friends for their loss.
