I am a bit shocked ,and shaken to hear the sad news ,that Tony has left the Stage.What a lovely warm intelligent human being.When we were on tour ,and got to San Francisco,Tony made contact ,Gave me ,and the late John O Brien his tour of San Fran,and invited us back to his home where we met with Gail ,and shared their hospitality.I still have the video clips I shot with them ,Treasures .our sincere condolence to Gail ,and their family.Ken ,and all at Bagatelle.❤️‍🩹🎤

Dear Gail and family,
We only learned that Tony was ill the night before he passed and were shocked and devastated next day at the news that he was gone.
We’re so dreadfully sorry for your loss and my apologies for not being able to attend the funeral but we watched the service online and it was really beautiful!
Tony’s song “You’re The One” is simply wonderful and his rendition of “Defying Gravity” would have made Jesse Winchester proud!
You’ve heard all the words that have been used to describe Tony’s many enviable qualities as a human being… and he really was a remarkable man; kind, gentle, humble, funny (I can hear his chuckle in my head right now!), possessing many hidden depths I always felt…. and always generous of spirit to one and all.
His musical talent was vastly underrated, due in no small part to his natural shy modesty, but that was part of his charm and he touched many hearts with that beautiful voice of his, the songs he wrote and the songs and music of others that he appreciated and chose to share… I’m grateful and proud to have been his friend down so many years and I’ll truly miss him.

Very sad to hear of Tony’s passing I first met him many years ago when we were both playing at bars in San Antonio, Ibiza.

I’ll never forget the generosity both Gail and Tony afforded me at their home in Dublin after I was overcome on stage at the Meeting Place in the eighties. Both Eve & myself remember fondly some lovely nights at the Bellevue Bar.

Thankfully , I was able to follow the Celebration of his life from St Luke’s. Wonderful heartfelt contributions from his Musician friends and heartbreakingly beautiful words from his Brother and Sister. If ever you happened to find yourself in the same room as Tony, you always felt you were in the right place. May he rest in peace.
