Like nearly the whole of the country, I was shocked to hear of the passing of a great radio presenter. Again like most, Tony's programme was on my radio when I came home from school and where I got a lot of my "mixed tapes" from.
I hope as a family you find comfort in the knowledge of how much Tony was loved by both you his family and the his very extended family within his listeners.
Tony may be gone to the heavens above, but he will surely never be forgotten. Rest in Peace, for I'm sure your spinning the decks high above.

So sad to hear Tony has moved on; such a rare talent, amazing voice and professor of music; great teenage memories in Willow Park Grove, Beneavin College, going to the Lookalikes in the Crofton Hotel, Tobar Discos in Upper Leeson St, his liking of The Fonz and of course mutual love of Chelsea. Condolences to Ann, his Partner, Sinead and all of his family and close friends. Rock on.

Never had the pleasure of meeting Tony but felt like I knew him. That was the effect he had on people. Listening to Today FM over the last few days you got sense of what a remarkable person he was and how he was part of people's lives and how much he will be missed. May he rest in peace.

When I was diagnosed with prostate cancer , I heard of Tony Fenton who was offering to help men with information about surgical options available in Leipzig in Germany. I emailed Tony not expecting to heard from anyone. Out of the blue one day as I was on my way to St Vincents Hospital for a surgical consultation, Tony Fenton called me. I was so surprised that he would take the time to call me. I am just an ordinary person, not known publically and Tony Fenton was taking the time from his busy schedule to help me. I always remembered Tony for that moment and very grateful to him . I was saddened to hear of his death. A true gentleman who was unselfish in character and so willing to help other cancer patients. I will always remember a lovely man that we have lost . Paddy Berry

Had the pleasure of meeting Tony through some mutual friends and spending a fun evening talking about irish bands and watching a favourite of his that night. it's not often you meet an idol you have grown up with but it's even rarer that they live up to your every expectation . RIP Tony

Wonderful memories of listening to Tony throughout my teenage years, he eased the pain of doing the homework and study!! His voice was like a great big, warm hug and no matter when I heard him since it just reminded me of sunny days and teenage dreams. Rest in peace Tony, our loss is Heaven's gain.

I just want to say how very sad I was to hear the news on Thursday, every day I wanted to hear he was back on the airways...... Was delighted that he got the award last year. Its amazing how you feel you know the person from listening to a voice. So from a listener for many many years from 2FM to Today FM. RIP and my deepest condolence to you his family.

I have to say I'm at a loss for word's after hearing the new's of Tony's passing. He was the ultimate DJ with a voice as smooth as chocolate and he had a way of putting a smile on the faces of his audience with his one liners and slang sayings. There must be a massive disco in the heavens and I've no doubt Tony is spinning the tracks with a glass of vino in his hand and he's playing some cracking tunes.
The DJ with the smiling voice has finished his set. Thanks again for all the years and providing the soundtrack to my generation. You were and will always remain an icon. Rock on Tony and keep her lit for the listeners

You kepy me company in my kitchen and car.Your voice soothing me and later also my children. You can never be replaced Tony. Our lives and our world was better for having you in it.
