I am deeply saddened to have just heard of Tony’s death.
I was privileged and honoured to work with him for 10 years on the Management Committee of Drumcondra Education & Support Centre.
When I think of Tony, I remember someone kind, good-humoured, mischievous, calm, considered & thoughtful. He always seemed to have all the time in the world when talking to you, yet somehow managed to juggle and complete so many projects.
Ever willing to put his hand up to take on something new, you knew it would be done meticulously.
He was very engaging with a wonderful smile and twinkle in the eye, he made you feel valued and your opinion respected.
I extend my heartfelt condolences to Tony's family during this sad time.

My sincere condolences to all of Tony’s family. I had the privilege of knowing Tony both as a pupil and later as a colleague.
I will always be grateful for the encouragement and support he gave me, especially in recognising the importance of IT in the classroom long before it became common practice. That support meant the world to me and helped shape the teacher I became.
Our shared love of dogs brought an extra layer to our friendship. I remember signing his home check before he was allowed to bring Cassie home! The love and commitment he showed to Cassie from the moment he adopted her was another example of his kind and gentle spirit. She was one lucky dog!
Rest in peace Tony

To Tony's first mate, Angela, and his crew of Graeme, Ronán, Dara, Shane and Conor. Also his sisters Carmel and Eileen, his adored grandchildren and daughters in law.
It is hard to believe that Tony has passed. His boundless energy, his ability to get things done and his attention to detail were legendary.
I was so fortunate to have worked with him for almost thirty years, until his retirement. He was an amazing principal, more a team leader than dictatorial boss.
The children were always at the epicenter of his role. He did anything necessary to provide what they needed to flourish. He encouraged us to use and develop our interests and skills to further the needs and interests of the children in our care.
He was supportive, kind, empathetic and sensitive. He dealt with so much, from red tape to fixing up the old school. Even sorting out a classroom ceiling when it fell in!!
He was wise, respectful, compassionate and had such integrity that his like will not be seen again. Importantly, he listened.
If I can adapt the lyrics of another song, 'He was content to to stand in the shadow and let others shine' However, he was our hero, and always will be.

Tony, or Mr. Healy as I really remember him was an exceptional school leader.I have such a fond memory of him shaking my hand , saying we'd be delighted to have you on board , as a newly qualified teacher. What a wonderful school community he fostered. The musicals and First Holy Communions were & always will be memorable events in our hearts. May his soul rest in peace x
To Tony's family, so sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved Tony. I was away for the funeral unfortunately. He was St Oliver Plunkett's School. He was my principal when I attended primary school. 25 years ago, we actually had our marquee in the grounds of the school top carpark. Dad arranged all of this with Tony and Canon Brady ! and what's more special, the very first meeting for the new school was also happening that same say 4th August 2000. I'll always be forever grateful for him facilitating such a request so we could get married at home. Years later, we walked Lara, Amelia and Hugo up that hill and he remembered me and knew every single child by name ! that was Tony. He took a personal interest in every single child. His legacy is our amazing new school and all the speeches, all the concerts, all the special occasions and in particular the first holy communions will stay engrained in all our memories. Thank you for sharing your husband and your dad with all of us. May he now rest in peace.

Just to say how sorry we were to hear of Tony's passing. We had come to know him through my programme on Irish Country Music Radio. He was a regular listener, often while driving to or from Dingle and Offaly or when out walking the dog. He called to our home in Lyreacrompane, Co Kerry, on a couple of occasions while on his way to or from Dingle. We had some great chats. In 2023, he took part in the Dan Paddy Andy Festival Bog Walk, and we have a lovely photo together from that time. Tony sent me a text a couple of days before he passed away and said he wasn't expecting to see Christmas. He hoped to get home from hospital, if at all possible, and mentioned one of his favourite songs, 'Offaly, my County, My Home', which he had often requested. Condolences to Angela and all his family and friends. We'll remember Tony, and we'll miss him.

As a fellow student of Tony's in Boher N.S, the glowing praise and heart-felt sympathy expressed for Tony comes as no surprise.
