My deepest sympathy to Daithi and extended family on the passing of Tony. From our first visit to Kevins hurling and camogie, it was clear Tony was everpresent. Keeping an eye on his grandchildren Aodhan and Cuan, and on occasion advising Daithi how to coach! Enjoyed my chats with Tony and always walked away the better for them. He was such a true kind friendly gentleman whom I had the pleasure of meeting 27 yrs ago when I was the manager of Ladbrokes Kilmainham
He was a gas character with many a story to tell he would have a great aul chat and a laugh
I remember telling him I was moving to the Country ( Carlow ) he said 'Oh I'm not far from there myself" little did I know our paths would cross again 6 yrs later in Ladbrokes Monasterevin I couldnt believe it when he walked up to the counter it was just like old times having a chat discussing the Racing Gaa etc putting the world to rights
The last time I seen him he told me ' to look after myself ' as i had been very sick I replied " you too take care "
Well Tony I hope you get the best bed in heaven and you can still have your bets you enjoyed doing

A great man with a big and generous heart, we mourn Tony’s passing with gratitude and affection for the huge part he played in the life of our family. Tony was always on hand bringing the lads to training and games, mentoring and putting up with plenty of lip and divilment from a loaded and fun filled car. I was so saddened to hear of Tony’s passing. Growing up beside him on the South Circular Road in Kilmainham, I have such fond memories of his kindness. Tony played a huge role in shaping my love for camogie at Kevins when I was a youngster, bringing me to training and encouraging me every step of the way, always with a great sense of humour.

In more recent years, he was always chatting to my kids, who fondly referred to him as “the man who loves hurling,” sharing stories and reminiscing about the past, especially his love for Kildare and camogie.

Tony was a truly good man ,kind, generous, and always up for a laugh. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

My heartfelt condolences to his wife Margaret and all the Hyland family. Thinking of you all at this very difficult time.

Condolences to Margaret, Andrew, David, Mark and all extended family and friends. It’s hard to truly capture what Tony meant to so many of us who grew up in the Liberties and beyond. As a hurling manager and a mentor, he played a huge role in shaping my life and the lives of so many others. He was always looking out for us—on and off the pitch—guiding us, supporting us, and helping keep us on the right path.

Tony had a way of bringing out the best in people, and he changed the direction of countless lives without ever asking for recognition. His impact will stay with us for years to come.
An absolute gentleman in every sense of the word.

Tony was a great GAA man who gave many dedicated years to Kevin’s Hurling Club.
Even after stepping back from committees, he kept a real interest in the club and its young players, always present at the Saturday ABCs.

Tony was of the old school who devoted his life to the kids of the communities. His passion and love for hurling is an example of how memories are made. I can guarantee without fail that he touched the hearts of many a young child. In his sad passing it will no doubt be as if they had lost a loved one. Rest in peace fellow, it was a honour and a blessing to have known you. The area of kilmainham will take a long time to get over this. Paddy.
