I am so shocked and saddened to hear of Tony’s passing. My deepest sympathy to you all. I had the privilege of working with Tony for many years and have so many fond memories and funny stories. He really was one of life’s gents. Rest in peace Tony x

Tony was a wonderful colleague in Beaumont Hospital. He had a gentle and kind heart that he shared with patients and helped eased their concerns. I was glad to know him. I shall say a prayer for his family at this sad time.

It is not often I am at a loss for words, but these last two days I am finding it difficult to adequately express the depth of personal regret for Tony’s passing to his wonderful wife Paula and all of their children, grand-children, and his fabulous and cherished sister Jane and brother-in-law Jimmy.
In all of my 35 years in Beaumont Hospital Tony was one of a very, very small handful of people who traversed and transcended the colleague, the co-worker, and the team-mate tags to become something much, much greater. When I needed a sounding-board, that’s what he was; when I needed to act-up he provided the stage; when I needed someone to listen, he lent me his ears, and when I needed to feel a little taller, he allowed me to stand on his shoulders. He told me the Truth when I needed to hear it, and more importantly he told me the truth at times when I didn’t want to hear it. I miss his counsel already, but I am acutely aware of the difficult days ahead for his loved ones; so, safe passage dear friend, we are, all of us, simply following in your wake…
