Emer and I are so sorry to hear of Tony's passing away. He was a wonderful, humorous man and a devoted barrister to his many clients over the years. We recollect some hilarious moments in Schull years ago. It was always a pleasure to have him appear in my court. Our deepest condolences to Margaret, Alice and Kate.

He was an absolute gentleman and a tonic and an inspiration and just so good to me and to so many others. He always saw the good in others no matter what the situation was. He was also great company and so so generous always with his time and advice. He will be hugely missed but in those who knew him his spirit very much lives on. May he rest in peace.

His service was perfect, and when the butterfly soared over the chapel as his coffin was lower it said “i am still with you”. You know he adored you all, of that there is no doubt. I graduated with Tony on the same day many years ago and can honestly say he was a salt of the earth person, obliging ,dependable and always ready to do one a favour if he could .He always saw the best side of people and did not want to hear bad of any one. He was a great and upbeat colleague, ever considerate, constructive and wise in his views. He was happy in his own skin.and loved what he was doing . A family man to the core, he loved their company, but was always good fun to be with for anyone, very sociable with a keen and impish sense of humour but it was impossible to be offended by him . I never heard anyone say a bad word about.him. He will be sadly missed by Margaret ,the girls and the extended family and by many in the Law library. including myself. May he rest in peace.

Dear Margaret and Family, I was so sorry to hear about Tony. I met Tony and Margaret at Eithne and Stephen's wedding in Rome a few years ago. He was a true gentleman and I know that he was a wonderful Dad. He adored Margaret, you were both such a good team. I know that your hearts are breaking - you are all in my prayers.

I am very sad to hear of Tony's passing and my sympathy to his wife, Margaret and daughters, Alice and Kate. He was a wonderful colleague in the Law Library and always extremely generous with his time when on numerous occasions over the years I asked him for a view on legal matters which were outside my comfort zone but very much within Tony's. I know Tony's helpfulness was also experienced by many other colleagues. He was always extremely pleasant and cheerful company in the restaurant in the LL. A great gentleman. He will be very much missed in the Law library.

His great sense of humour and his general encouragement of all made him a very popular colleague and a sought after companion for morning coffee in the Law Library. I’m so very sorry to hear the sad news of Tony’s death. Mention of his name always brings a smile to my face. He was the most enjoyable colleague to come up against and a case with Tony was sure to bring good humour and good spirit to your day.

Tony was one of life’s true gentlemen. In my years working alongside Tony, the interests of the client were always paramount and never did he take them for granted.
