My deepest condolences to Turloughs family . I’m so sorry to hear of his passing.I recall his approach to me and his attempted conversion of me from GAA to Rugby , during my time in the College . Together with Mick Halliday , Brendan Johnson , and Gerry Dunne they enriched the sporting life of Dundalk RTC and myself , during my time in academia , May he rest in peace .

Very sad to learn of Turlough's passing. He was a great engineer and teacher. Very fond memories of his classes in DKIT, he helped set many of us up for life with his knowledge and experience. I still remember to this day some of his lectures and how right many of his insights were. A lovely man. May he rest in peace.

My sincerest, belated condolences to you young Turlough and your family. It was with great sadness that I learned of Turlough's passing. Many fond memories traveling in the car with him for a rugby game. He was the hardest man to be paired with in tackle practice. I would compare him to a sack of Steel Bars !! Rest in peace 🙏

Sincere condolences to Turlough (Turbo) and the O'Brien family on the passing of Turlough Snr; he was a great character and had a major influence on me and my love of rugby.

I remember being in Belfast with Turlough in the late 1980's (not the quietest time); having played against Queens, and won, we were having a few pints, Turlough let us know the bus was going in 5 minutes, about ten of us were finishing our drink and said, don't worry he can't go without all of us.

Unfortunately we had under estimated Turlough, and went outside to see an empty car park; with nothing else for it, we returned to the bar, and eventually made our way back to Dundalk the next day.

We also learned not to mess with Turlough.
