I met Una in her later years in pg. What i remember is her love of her late husband, the love and pride in her two boys, and their families, her love of teaching, and her dislike of the "pub life"

Our sympathies to John Paul and Alec on your mother's death. Úna was our kind next-door neighbour and good friend in Viewmount for many years. She gave us a warm welcome the day we moved in and the gate was always open for the lads to collect the ball that had gone into her garden! Úna was devoted to Gerry, John Paul and Alec and to her extended family. She was a dedicated teacher and loved her game of bridge. She is remembered warmly by us. May she enjoy her Heavenly reward.

My aunt was a wonderful sister to Mary, my late mother. As children my brother and I used to love to visit our cousins Alec and John Paul in Waterford and there was nothing we liked more than getting on the dodgems with them in the playgrounds. Una very kindly looked after us so well, along with Uncle Gerry. One thing we had very much in common is that we both taught in schools in Zimbabwe (former Rhodesia ) for a fairly long time. Having emigrated to Australia in 2000 I didn’t have much contact with her in recent years but on the rare occasions I spoke to her I found her to be a very mellow and kind lady. May she rest in peace.
