Una had an active and interesting life for longer than most. We shared stories of sailing adventures. Walking was a major part of her life; she didn't use the car unless it was the better option, preferring to walk. She lived life on her terms. She will be missed.
Condolences to Una's family on her passing. Una participated and led so many walks with the Dublin Walking Club. Always so knowledgeable on these walks and her dedication was so obvious. Great memories of Una's walks, where nothing was left to chance, even the lunch stops were selected with care.
May Una Rest in Peace 🙏
So sad to hear about my Aunt’s passing unfortunately too late to attend her requiem mass. May she RIP with her siblings (including my Mammy Nora) and parents and all the other Renahan cousins already departed. She led a long and active life and thankfully did not suffer for too long.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
Una’s passing brings back great memories of some wonderful hill walks led by her, especially in west Wicklow. On a CHA club holiday in Snowdonia we climbed many peaks together. On another holiday in Scotland we had reached the top of Ben Nevis when she confided that she was in her eighty first year. She was still remarkably fit and agile well into her eighties, an inspiration to those of us following in her footsteps.

Deepest sympathy to the family of Una. We had many good day's hiking with Una.
We all enjoyed her company. She was a wonderful walks leader and a friend to all in CHA Hillwalking Club....
Great memories of Goldburn beagling with Una and April to June hikes which she organized. A lovely lady. May she rest-in peace.
Very sad to learn of the death of Una. I grew up in Celtic Park and was great friends with the Renahan family, especially her brother John who sadly passed away last year. As a young child I used to call into 33 and was always made welcome by Una’s mother and the rest of the family. I became good friends with Una’s brother John and have fond memories of various outings and activities we partook in together, especially our sailing trips on the Broadmeadow in Malahide. On a number of occasions I accompanied Una and John on hunts with the beagles and will always be grateful for the kindness and friendship shown to me and my family. May she rest in Peace. Deepest sympathy,
With fond remembrance,
From,

Dear Friends and Relations,

It is so sad to hear of the passing of Una who was such a vivaceous and energetic woman in her earlier years. Her death also marks the end of that generation of the family with all the five children of my maternal grandparents (Agnes and John Renahen) and their spouses / partners now gone from this place.

My greatest memory of her was when she came to be our surrogate mother in (I think) Feb 1960 when my mother was critically ill in Hospital in Halifax, Yorkshire.

She also entertained us children in the summer holidays when we were taken to see the delightful coastal resorts of North Dublin, the Zoological gardens and to take a summer evening walk with the beagles at the Goldburn club.

My funniest recollection was of her meeting me in Fairview and then the two of us travelling by bus to Collins Avenue. She was carrying a large woven bread basket with a light linen cloth covering up the days' takings from a major shop in the city centre, perhaps well over £500 in coins and notes of various denominations ! She would count the takings and then return it by bus the following morning !

Happy times. We will never see that again.

God Bless,

Emmet
