Our deepest sympathies on the passing of Ursula. It was with great sadness we learned of her illness and our thoughts were with you throughout.

We both had the pleasure of knowing Ursula; Keith as her student and LSAD, and myself as the loving mother of a good friend.

I have a great memory of being welcomed in her beautiful garden at the Pink House.

May she rest in peace, surrounded by sweetpeas.

I was so sorry to hear of Ursulas passing, she was a lovely lady. I had not seen her in a number of years. I will always remember the interesting chats we use to have in Grove Island Gym. She shared a very kind memory she had of my Dad, this meant alot to me and I am very grateful for her sharing with me. May her kind gentle soul rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to all of Ursula's family at this very sad time. I had the pleasure of knowing Ursula in several capacities over the last three decades. Firstly, from afar, as one of revered painting lecturers. She was regarded by all who had her as a teacher as one of the best kinds of teacher. Ursula was one of those kinds of teacher that you know will make you work very hard, and be searingly truthful with you. But with their guidance and belief you will produce your absolute best work. I think even back then, she exemplified the type of teacher I aspire to be. Honest, fair, tuned-in, humble and hilarious. Ursula was highly respected by all the student body. She saw through the crap, and told you so, and you needed to hear it to learn. Her truth telling was always softened by that perennial twinkle in her eyes, and a huge dollop of wit, wisdom and kindness. Several years later I joined her on the other side of the fence, as an assistant lecturer at LSAD. To this day I'm not quite sure what i did to deserve it, but she welcomed me, almost immediately with an open mind and heart. When Ursula had your back it was a secret superpower, one every young, green academic needed. Navigating the complex & surprisingly conservative corridors of art college with Ursula at your side was reassurance bar none. And when times got tough, she was there, steadfast in your corner. Like a wise Oak, who had seen it all & knew this too, would pass. I kept contact with Ursula for several years after moving to NZ, & met up with her when I visited Ireland but I'm sad to say I wasn't recently in contact and didn't know of her illness. I wish I got time to say this to her in person. 🙏I hope she is at peace in the wildest garden of the universe. 🌱🌿✨
