I have fond memories of working with Val on the Grand Canal Tunnel project in Dublin in the early 1980s and chatting about home in Mayo.

So saddened to hear of the passing of Val ...the last one of the Jefferses...such haply memories of Val and his family growing up in Meelick together and all the fun we had ...may his gentle soul rest in peace now with his lovely mother Katie his dad Matt ...Tony Sadie and Bridie...

He was a great and very much loved and respected friend of my Dad & Mom, Matt & Breda Joyce. Dad used to tell so many stories of their time in England and their friendship continued to be important to him until the day of his own passing in December 2023.
